Server update, 2017-09-18

This release enables relationship credits for areas and places, contains more URL cleanup & auto-select fixes, and changes the behavior of the artist-merge option to rename credits to only rename those that match the original artist names.

The git tag is v-2017-09-18.

  1. Great work guys, but what’s with:
    [MBS-9353] – Do not show collections or user profiles to people not logged in
    The change removes literally the only facet of the site that I regularly share with users outside of the musicbrainz ecosystem, and my only motivator for editing events.
    Digging through the chat log linked in the gives me faith that it’s temporary (whatever that means, see ‘old forums’ for similar joy) but I don’t expect to have to do that on a professionally run site that relies on user contribution.

  2. @aerozol I’ll add it to the next meeting agenda to determine when we can see if it helps with spam, and when we can revert it. Even if it does help, I think there are much less heavy ways to accomplish that. I didn’t like it either.
