The server has been updated once again, bringing you Album Languages,
completely rewritten Guess Case functionality, fancy-looking input forms
and a few bug fixes.
Changes mainly of interest to MusicBrainz Users
Language/Script Support
Albums now have script and language attributes. All add album
workflows (including the FreeDB imports) have been updated to
set language and script during the process. Batch editing is
also possible.
Additionally, Add Album and Edit Language edits
have a language attribute and it is now possible to search
for moderations in a certain language using the
Advanced
Moderation Search.
For more information please read the
Album Language
documentation.
Guess Case / Site Layout
There has been a full rewrite of the popular Guess Case feature
bringing you lots of new functionality.
All input forms have also been improved and look a lot better now.
Miscellaneous
There is now a link on the user profile pages that takes you to the open
edits of that user.
The
Data Tracks
report has been improved and catches more data tracks.
Random inline mods are back as a user preference, but for automods
only. They had been disabled because of the infamous random voter problem.
Bribery with chocolate brought them back.
Changes mainly of interest to MusicBrainz Administrators
Some dependencies for mb_server have been changed. Please update them
before you install a new mb_server.
- String::Similarity can now be used out of the box. The old patched
version can be removed. - Language::Guess is now required. You’ll need to download the seed data from ftp://ftp.musicbrainz.org/pub/musicbrainz/data/language-guess.tar.gz. See the INSTALL file for more.
- Devel::Peek is now required.
Please also note that you should use DBD::Pg 1.32. Newer versions
have been fully rewritten causing us lots of troubles. We’ll have to wait
until the 1.40 series stabilises.
Fixed bugs
-
1157640
Web
Service encoding bug - Problems with the site search that turned up recently have been fixed.
- An artist sorting bug has been fixed.
- Some AR bugs in the moderation subsystem have been fixed.
