I’ve released a new Virtual Machine of the MusicBrainz server, based on the recent 2013-10-14 schema change. You can download the updated virtual machine here:
- BitTorrent: musicbrainz-server-2013-10-14.ova.torrent
- Direct download: musicbrainz-server-2013-10-14.ova
This VM is 10GB large and is built on the latest version of VirtualBox. Due to continuing incompatibilities between VMWare Fusion and VirtualBox, I am going to create a separate VMWare base virtual machine soon. I’m waiting for a vagrant-vmware-fusion license key and once I have that I will build the VMWare version and upload that as well.
The documentation for this VM has been updated to reflect the latest changes. Please make sure to read this page while you wait for your download!
Quick heads up – the torrent link in the documentation page points to the direct download link. Thank you for providing updated VMs, I’m eagerly awaiting the VMWare Fusion release. Cheers!
Zorba: Fixed. Thanks for letting me know.
Hi,
Excuse my (probably) dumb question, but is there somewhere on the website a step-by-step way of changing the port jetty is listening to, as on the server hosting the VM, the port 8080 is already used ? I’m a limited user of the Ubuntu term, and a little piece of help would be great here, if you can. Thanks! David
David: In the settings for the VM, go to Networks, Adapter 1 tab and then expand Advanced. Then click on Port Forwarding to change the ports.
Thank you
Hey,
I downloaded the “musicbrainz-server-2014-05-14.ova”. When I’m trying to loginto the vm it keeps saying ‘Login incorrect’. I’m using ‘vm’ as login and ‘musicbrainz’ as password like it is told here: http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/MusicBrainz_Server/Setup
Can someone help me please?
Nevermind, I found the problem…. the vm keyboard layout did not match my keyboard (German). So I have to press the ‘y’-key to write a ‘z’.
Thanks anyway.
